After a thunderstorm with heavy rain and hail, the weather in Austria is getting really pleasant again. On the weekend, the 20-degree mark falls.
On the back of a cold front, cooler but also drier air masses flow into the country on Friday, which is why the tendency to showers decreases significantly. In addition, Austria will remain in the sphere of influence of a high-pressure wedge, which separates two distinct low-pressure systems over southwestern and northeastern Europe. Except for a few showers in the mountains on Sunday, extremely calm and mostly sunny spring weather will set in.
Today, Friday, the sun will shine frequently throughout the country. From the Waldviertel and Weinviertel to Burgenland, a few cloud fields will pass through at times during the day, but overall the friendly impression will continue to prevail. The wind will blow moderately to briskly from west to northwest. Highs will range between 11 and 20 degrees.
Saturday will bring mostly spring-like weather conditions, with widespread sunshine from early morning. With generally decreasing wind, temperatures will rise to between 14 and 22 degrees.
On Sunday, the calm, spring-like weather will continue. Mostly sunshine prevails, even if the sky is not completely unclouded with a few harmless clouds. Highs will range between 13 and 22 degrees.
On Monday, clouds will predominate in the south from the beginning, in the north, however, it will remain mostly clear and friendly. From Vorarlberg to Lower Carinthia, rain will fall again and again and the day will be increasingly unsettled. In the evening, clouds will also increase in the northeast. The wind will blow mostly moderately from northerly directions, with 10 to 18 degrees it will again be somewhat cooler than before.
